DIGITAL EXPLORATION ATLAS OF
NEW YORK STATE

The Digital Exploration Atlas of New York State contains 114 structure-contour and isopach maps for over twenty stratigraphic horizons, compiled aeromagnetic data, and Bouguer gravity maps in the form of DXF (AutoCAD exchange format) files. Topographic data are included as Windows bit maps. The information is divided into standard U.S. Geological Survey sheets at scales of >1:500,000, 1:250,000, and 1:100,000. The digital files are contained on one CD-ROM.
The data may be accessed directly from the CD, or they may accessed using a Web browser. To facilitate viewing for users who do not already have a DXF viewer, the VoloView Express program from AutoDesk is included on the CD-ROM.
All DXF files have locations in UTM kilometers relative to the 75 West Central Meridian, Clarke 1866 spheroid, NAD 27 datum.
All of the data are from the New York State Geologic Survey and the U.S. Geological Survey. The Atlas was created by EDCON-PRJ with partial funding from the New York State Energy Research Development Agency and private industry. The Atlas was completed and released in November, 2000.
The Digital Exploration Atlas of New York State is available for purchase.
