EXPERIENCE

Geological Explored for: massive sulfides and gold in Precambrian and Phanerozoic terranes in North America and South Africa; porphyry copper and molybdenum, mesothermal and epithermal precious metals and tungsten deposits in the Western Cordillera of North America; uranium in the U.S. and South Africa; chrome, tin, flourite in the Bushveld Igneous Complex. Discoveries include: Graces Puts, Tweepad, Koiingnaas placer diamond mines. Participated in discovery of Island Copper mine. Beaufort West (South Africa) uranium district.
Project Management Managed numerous drilling projects, $1 million per annum placer diamond project $12 million underground gold-silver evaluation project. Directed task force to reassess a $40 million underground copper development project. Directed geochemical reconnaissance programs in South Africa. Prepared budgets and implemented budget and cost controls for projects ranging from $20,000 to $4 million per year. Negotiated with contractors, property owners, joint ventures, and governmental agencies.
Evaluations Evaluated regions in North America and South Africa for exploration potential through research and reconnaissance, including assessment of environmental factors, land availability, competitor activity, infrastructure. Evaluated hundreds of prospects worldwide. Participated on teams evaluating operating open-pit copper mine (120,000 tpd), underground precious metal mines (150-300 tpd), surface and underground coal mines. Calculated and audited ore reserves on numerous projects.
Feasibility Studies Directed prefeasibility study of a $26 million underground precious metal project. Participated in the feasibility study of a 1000 tpd, $8 million underground copper project. Performed numerous smaller, less formal studies.
Geological- Geophysical In cooperation with other geophysicists and geologists, performed integrated geological-geophysical interpretations of proprietary, regional aeromagnetic surveys of Nevada and adjoining states. Developed regional concepts on the tectonic controls of epithermal gold deposits in Nevada.
